Takumi Motion Controls is Startup based out of Bangalore, India. Our focus in India is delivering EV Powertrain Solutions to Our Customers in Collaboration with our Japanese Peers.

Upholding the Vision of ‘Innovate in India with Japanese Technology’, We are developing Vehicle Powertrain Solutions (Motor controller, vehicle controller etc.,) for Electric Vehicles that will cater to selected segments in the Indian Market. With Localized design and In House Manufacturing of Solutions we strive to enable the Small Electric Vehicle Eco System.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the supplier quality engineer include securing supplies and parts for the assembly line, reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications, monitoring materials for any defects, and resolving quality issues.

To be successful as a supplier quality engineer, you should have excellent analytical and technical skills with strong attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch supplier quality engineer should have excellent
communication and problem-solving skills and an eye for supply quality control.

The Responsibilities are as below

Quality Activities:

  • Responsible as the key liaison between operations, suppliers, and the customer, ensuring that overall specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for all purchased supplies or products.
  • Review engineering and manufacturing specifications to identify materials needed for product assembly for all manufactured goods.
  • Perform and Evaluate First Article Inspections of incoming supplies or products from vendors to check for defects, problem part resolution and ensure quality.
  • Identify, contain and ultimately eliminate the defect through Root-Cause-Corrective-Action Analysis (RCCA), 8D, rework and containment plans, and collaboration with suppliers.
  • Promote the use of techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing).
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Research and find the best vendors to supply necessary materials needed for manufacturing process.
  • Assist SQE Manager to monitoring, report and support of supplier quality metrics and performance.
  • Implement and maintain suppliers rating system to Provide monthly KPI metrics to Sr. management.

APQP & PPAP Support:

  • Participate in APQP activities for new programs ensuring supplier involvement.
  • Review and collate Supplier PPAP’s including PFD, PFMEA, control plans, material certification, dimensional analysis.
  • Perform validation and prepare PPAP submissions for customer approval.

Audit:

  • Conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure vendors and their supplies remain in compliance with company’s manufacturing and production standards.
  • Conduct internal audits to support the companies ISO certification / accreditation process and help coordinate corrective action responses.
  • Support overall site Quality Management System through metrics, auditing, etc

Supplier Engagement:

  • Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships.
  • Assist with logistics, including communications with vendors when there are packaging and receiving issues.
  • Maximize quality, cost, logistics, delivery and management at the supply base.

EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE

  • Degree or Equivalent Experience: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Years of Experience: 2 to 4 years
  • Areas of Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), MSA, calibration, Control Plans and detailed manufacturing work instructions.
    • Knowledge of measurement techniques, Metrology and Equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Experience with manufacturing and production processes and engineering principles.
    • Strong computer skills with hands-on experience in Excel, Word and Power point.
